Dairy products from Spain need a product-specific quality, sanitary and temperature-control plan. Milk, concentrated milk, fermented products, butter, whey and ice cream have different handling requirements. Define the dairy specification
Liquid milk, concentrated milk and whey-based products need exact composition, processing and intended use. Fermented products require an approved formulation and relevant quality characteristics. Butter and ice cream need their own ingredient, performance and storage specifications.
For manufacturing ingredients, state the process the product must support. For retail products, include pack design, allergens, claims and required market-language information. A bulk ingredient and a ready-to-sell retail food are different offers.
Establishment and market eligibility
Verify the producer, establishment and sanitary documentation required for the destination. Spain’s CEXGAN system supports animal-product export procedures and market information. Requirements depend on the product-country combination and current conditions.
Confirm the importer’s approvals and food-registration position before shipment. A processor’s general certification does not establish eligibility for every country or every dairy product.
Cold-chain or ambient handling
Some dairy products are designed for ambient storage, while others need chilled or frozen conditions. Use the manufacturer’s documented requirements and the destination rules. Plan collection, storage, loading, transport, inspection delays and final receiving.
Agree monitoring and excursion procedures where temperature control is required. A refrigerated freight booking alone does not prove that the entire chain remained within the product’s limits. Identify who can make an acceptance decision if conditions deviate.
