Role Summary

The Head of Cold Chain Logistics & Refrigerated Transport will lead the development and growth of Wigmore Trading’s cold storage and refrigerated logistics network.

The role focuses on building infrastructure that connects farms, markets, warehouses, and food retailers through reliable cold chain systems that preserve produce and reduce post-harvest losses.

This position requires a professional with strong experience in logistics, food supply chains, refrigerated transport, or cold storage infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Strategy Development

• Develop the strategy for Wigmore Trading’s cold chain infrastructure and refrigerated transport network.

• Identify opportunities for solar-powered cold rooms, refrigerated trucking, and agricultural cold hubs.

• Build scalable cold storage solutions for markets, farms, and food distribution centres.

Infrastructure Deployment

• Lead the deployment of cold storage facilities and refrigerated transport systems.

• Implement solar-powered cold rooms in agricultural markets and production hubs.

• Establish farm-level pre-cooling facilities and produce aggregation centres.

Supply Chain Integration

• Build logistics networks connecting farmers, wholesalers, food processors, and retailers.

• Build partnerships with farmer cooperatives, agricultural businesses, food retailers, and hospitality companies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Agricultural Economics, Logistics, Engineering, or related field.

Experience

• 7–10 years of experience in logistics, cold chain operations, agricultural supply chains, or food distribution infrastructure.

• Experience managing cold storage facilities or refrigerated transport operations.

• Experience working with agricultural supply chains or food distribution networks.

Skills

• Strong understanding of cold chain logistics and food supply chain management.

• Experience deploying infrastructure projects and managing logistics operations.

• Strong leadership and project management capability.

• Ability to build partnerships with farmers, cooperatives, and food distributors.
