Wigmore Trading is a fast-growing company operating across multiple sectors including infrastructure, logistics, commodities, and technology services across Africa.

As part of our expansion strategy, Wigmore Trading is launching an electric mobility and sustainable transport platform focused on deploying electric vehicles (EVs), battery infrastructure, and charging networks for last-mile transportation.

The goal is to improve urban mobility while reducing fuel costs and emissions by introducing electric tricycles, e-bikes, electric buses, and EV charging infrastructure across Nigerian cities.


Role Summary

The Head of Electric Mobility & Last-Mile Transport will lead the development and growth of Wigmore Trading’s electric mobility platform, including EV fleets, charging infrastructure, and battery-powered transport solutions.

The role focuses on building scalable transport systems that serve commuters, delivery companies, ride-hailing drivers, and corporate fleets, helping transition urban transport to more efficient and sustainable technologies.

This position requires a professional with strong experience in transport systems, electric vehicles, fleet operations, or mobility technology platforms.


Key Responsibilities

Business & Strategy Development

  • Develop the strategy for Wigmore Trading’s electric mobility and EV transport platform.

  • Identify opportunities for electric tricycles, e-bikes, electric buses, and fleet electrification.

  • Build scalable business models including vehicle leasing, fleet services, and energy-as-a-service charging networks.

Vehicle Deployment & Infrastructure

  • Lead deployment of electric vehicles and charging infrastructure across urban markets.

  • Develop battery charging and battery-swap networks to support vehicle fleets.

  • Ensure efficient fleet management and vehicle performance monitoring.

Transport & Fleet Operations

  • Build EV fleets for ride-hailing services, delivery companies, and corporate transport operations.

  • Implement systems for vehicle tracking, fleet maintenance, and driver management.

  • Ensure high operational efficiency and reliable transport services.

Partnerships & Market Expansion

  • Build partnerships with ride-hailing platforms, delivery companies, fleet operators, and municipal authorities.

  • Collaborate with EV manufacturers, battery suppliers, and charging infrastructure providers.

  • Expand electric mobility adoption through strategic partnerships and pilot projects.

Operations & Platform Management

  • Build and manage teams across fleet operations, vehicle maintenance, and infrastructure deployment.

  • Monitor operational performance, fleet utilisation, and charging network efficiency.

  • Implement systems for maintenance, energy management, and operational support.


Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Transport Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Systems, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience

  • 7–10 years of experience in transport operations, fleet management, electric vehicle systems, or mobility platforms.

  • Experience working with vehicle fleets, transport infrastructure, or EV technology providers.

  • Experience launching or managing mobility or logistics platforms.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of electric vehicles, fleet management, and transport infrastructure.

  • Experience managing large-scale mobility operations.

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability.

  • Ability to build partnerships with vehicle manufacturers, fleet operators, and government stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with electric vehicle manufacturers, transport companies, or mobility startups.

  • Familiarity with EV charging systems and battery technologies.

  • Experience launching or scaling sustainable mobility platforms.
