Wigmore Trading is a fast-growing company operating across multiple sectors including infrastructure, logistics, commodities, and technology services across Africa.

As part of our expansion strategy, Wigmore Trading is launching a clean mobility infrastructure platform focused on electric vehicle (EV) charging networks and sustainable transport energy solutions.

The goal is to support the transition to electric mobility by building EV charging stations, battery swap infrastructure, and energy services for electric fleets and private EV owners.


Role Summary

The Head of EV Charging & Clean Mobility Infrastructure will lead the development and growth of Wigmore Trading’s electric vehicle charging network and clean mobility infrastructure platform.

The role focuses on deploying public charging stations, home charging solutions, and battery-swapping infrastructure that enable widespread EV adoption.

This position requires a professional with strong experience in electric mobility systems, energy infrastructure, transport electrification, or renewable energy deployment.


Key Responsibilities

Business & Strategy Development

  • Develop the strategy for Wigmore Trading’s EV charging and clean mobility infrastructure platform.

  • Identify opportunities to deploy public EV charging stations, battery swap systems, and fleet charging hubs.

  • Design scalable business models including charging subscriptions, energy-as-a-service, and fleet charging services.

Charging Infrastructure Deployment

  • Lead deployment of Level 2 chargers, fast DC chargers, and solar-powered charging stations.

  • Implement EV charging infrastructure across commercial centres, transport hubs, and public facilities.

  • Ensure charging infrastructure integrates with renewable energy and grid power systems.

Fleet Electrification Solutions

  • Develop solutions for electric delivery fleets, public transport operators, and corporate mobility services.

  • Build charging infrastructure tailored to fleet operations and high-utilisation vehicles.

  • Implement energy management systems for fleet charging networks.

Partnerships & Market Expansion

  • Build partnerships with vehicle manufacturers, mobility companies, government agencies, and property developers.

  • Work with energy providers and infrastructure investors to expand charging networks.

  • Support pilot programs for electric mobility across cities and transport corridors.

Operations & Platform Management

  • Build and manage teams responsible for charging infrastructure deployment, maintenance, and customer support.

  • Implement monitoring systems for energy consumption, charging utilization, and station reliability.

  • Ensure strong operational processes for infrastructure management and service delivery.


Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

Experience

  • 7–10 years of experience in energy infrastructure, electric mobility systems, transport electrification, or power systems engineering.

  • Experience deploying EV charging infrastructure or renewable energy projects.

  • Experience working with energy utilities, transport operators, or mobility technology providers.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of EV charging technologies and energy infrastructure systems.

  • Experience managing infrastructure deployment and energy platform operations.

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability.

  • Ability to build partnerships with mobility companies and energy providers.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with electric vehicle manufacturers or mobility technology companies.

  • Familiarity with EV charging standards and energy infrastructure regulations.

  • Experience launching scalable energy or transport infrastructure platforms.
