Wigmore Trading is a fast-growing company operating across multiple sectors including technology services, infrastructure, logistics, and digital platforms across Africa.
As part of our expansion strategy, Wigmore Trading is launching a cloud communications platform (CPaaS) focused on improving enterprise messaging infrastructure across Nigeria and Africa.
The platform will enable businesses to send reliable SMS alerts, notifications, authentication codes, and marketing messages through modern APIs and messaging dashboards.
Role Summary
The Head of Messaging Platforms & CPaaS will lead the development and growth of Wigmore Trading’s enterprise messaging and SMS infrastructure platform.
The role focuses on building modern communication APIs, improving message delivery reliability, and providing businesses with analytics and tools to manage messaging at scale.
This position requires a professional with strong experience in telecommunications messaging systems, CPaaS platforms, or enterprise communications infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Platform & Product Development

Lead the development of Wigmore Trading’s SMS and communications platform (CPaaS).

Design messaging infrastructure that supports bulk messaging, transactional alerts, authentication SMS, and notification services.

Build APIs and developer tools that allow businesses to integrate messaging services into their applications.
Messaging Infrastructure & Integration

Establish integrations with telecom operators and SMS aggregation networks.

Implement systems that improve message delivery rates, routing efficiency, and message queue management.

Ensure the platform supports high message volumes with minimal delays.
Analytics & Platform Operations

Build dashboards that provide message delivery analytics, campaign tracking, and performance insights.

Implement systems that detect failed deliveries and optimize message routing.

Monitor platform reliability and messaging performance.
Business Development

Build partnerships with banks, fintech companies, marketing agencies, and enterprise clients.

Develop commercial models including per-SMS billing, volume-based pricing tiers, and API usage plans.

Expand platform adoption among digital platforms and enterprise clients.
Compliance & Governance

Ensure the platform complies with relevant telecommunications messaging regulations and anti-spam guidelines.

Implement opt-in/opt-out systems and messaging compliance controls.

Maintain secure infrastructure for enterprise messaging and authentication services.
Requirements
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Experience
-
7+ years of experience in telecom messaging systems, CPaaS platforms, telecom infrastructure, or enterprise communications technology.

Experience working with SMS gateways, messaging platforms, or telecom infrastructure providers.

Experience managing enterprise communication platforms or messaging APIs.
Skills

Strong understanding of SMS messaging infrastructure and telecom signaling systems.

Experience building API-based communication platforms.

Strong technical leadership and platform management capability.

Ability to build partnerships with telecom operators and enterprise clients.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with CPaaS platforms, SMS gateways, or telecom messaging providers.

Familiarity with enterprise messaging use cases such as OTP authentication, banking alerts, and marketing campaigns.

Experience launching scalable communications platforms or developer APIs.
