As part of our expansion strategy, Wigmore Trading is launching a water and sanitation infrastructure platform focused on delivering clean water systems and improved sanitation solutions for households, institutions, and communities.

The goal is to improve public health, increase access to reliable water supply, and provide scalable infrastructure solutions for underserved areas.


Role Summary

The Head of Water & Sanitation Infrastructure will lead the development and growth of Wigmore Trading’s clean water and sanitation infrastructure business.

The role focuses on deploying borehole water systems, purification infrastructure, prepaid water kiosks, and sanitation facilities that provide reliable services for communities, businesses, and institutions.

This position requires a professional with strong experience in water infrastructure projects, sanitation systems, environmental engineering, or public utilities development.


Key Responsibilities

Business & Strategy Development

  • Develop the strategy for Wigmore Trading’s water and sanitation infrastructure platform.

  • Identify opportunities to deploy borehole systems, water purification infrastructure, and sanitation facilities.

  • Build scalable service models including water vending systems, prepaid kiosks, and sanitation service networks.

Infrastructure Deployment

  • Lead the deployment of boreholes, solar-powered pumps, water purification systems, and storage infrastructure.

  • Develop sanitation infrastructure including toilet blocks, septic systems, and waste management solutions.

  • Ensure all installations meet health and safety standards.

Community & Institutional Partnerships

  • Build partnerships with schools, healthcare facilities, property developers, and community organisations.

  • Work with local authorities and development organisations to expand water access programs.

  • Develop service delivery models for peri-urban and rural communities.

Operations & Maintenance

  • Implement systems for maintenance, repair, and ongoing operation of water and sanitation infrastructure.

  • Develop service teams responsible for maintenance and customer support.

  • Monitor system performance and service reliability.

Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Develop commercial models including installation contracts, water vending services, and sanitation service fees.

  • Expand infrastructure projects through partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, and private sector organisations.

  • Identify new markets for water and sanitation infrastructure deployment.


Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Management, or related field.

Experience

  • 7–10 years of experience in water infrastructure, sanitation systems, environmental services, or public utilities projects.

  • Experience deploying borehole systems, water purification infrastructure, or sanitation facilities.

  • Experience working with community infrastructure or public service projects.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of water systems, sanitation infrastructure, and environmental engineering.

  • Experience managing infrastructure deployment projects.

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability.

  • Ability to build partnerships with government agencies, communities, and development organisations.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with water infrastructure providers or sanitation service companies.

  • Familiarity with public health standards and water quality regulations.

  • Experience launching scalable infrastructure platforms for community services.
