About Us
Wigmore Trading produces high‑impact, short online movies and micro‑dramas (approximately 1–5 minutes each), reflecting dynamic urban life and diverse cultural experiences in Lagos. Inspired by the global phenomenon of micro‑dramas, we aim to tell compelling local stories that resonate internationally. Our fast‑paced digital releases rely on talented, committed performers.
Key Responsibilities
-
Portray a variety of characters in short scripted formats (1–5 minutes) across genres (drama, comedy, social realism).
-
Deliver emotionally engaging and authentic performances within tight timelines.
-
Collaborate closely with directors, writers, and production crew during compact shoot schedules.
-
Take part in promotional activities, readings, and occasional voice‑over work for online content.
What We’re Looking For
-
Actors living in or able to commute to Lagos; prior experience in Nigerian film, stage, theatre, advertisements, or online projects is a plus.
-
Adaptability: capable of delivering rich performances in ultra‑short formats; able to switch styles quickly.
-
Strong work ethic and professionalism: arrive on time, take direction, and maintain consistency across multiple takes.
-
Commitment to growth: a willingness to train, take feedback, and engage in ongoing development.
-
Language & cultural fluency: Nigerian English, Pidgin, or local dialects (Yorùbá, Igbo, Hausa), depending on role.
Preferred Background & Qualifications
We welcome both emerging and seasoned talent. Successful candidates may have:
-
Formal training (drama school or university theatre/drama programme).
-
Experience in Nollywood, web‑series, short films, or theatre — especially those filmed in Lagos.
-
Demonstrable on‑camera reels or links to previous work (social media videos, showcases, monologues).
-
Self‑taught or community theatre performers with strong reel-worthy showcases are equally encouraged.
-
Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility in scheduling, and capacity to work under tight deadlines.
Why Join Us?
-
Work on innovative, short‑form content reflecting Lagosian life and culture.
-
Be part of a nimble creative team that values local stories with global appeal.
-
Opportunities to build your reel rapidly and cross over into longer projects.
-
Flexible roles: we value dedication and talent more than formal training, offering growth for hard‑working individuals.
