A mining survey drone in Nigeria should be specified around the report the site needs: a quarry surface model, stockpile volumes, progress mapping or inspection evidence. The best DJI drone for a mining company is not determined by the camera resolution alone. Site extent, access, surface conditions, required accuracy and repeat-survey frequency affect the system. Quarry surveys and 3D mapping
A quarry may need a mapped working area, updated surface model or comparison with a previous survey. Specify the coordinate reference, coverage, detail and reporting interval. The flight is only one stage; processing, checks and professional interpretation are needed before data can support planning or measurement decisions.

A volume calculation is not automatically a verified tonnage figure. Ask how the base surface, inaccessible areas and material boundaries will be handled. If results support invoicing or inventory records, agree who checks and signs them. An attractive 3D model is not a substitute for an auditable measurement method.
Can a drone find mineral deposits?
A standard camera drone records surface information. It does not directly identify underground gold, lithium or a mineral reserve. Geological exploration may use specialist sensors and several forms of ground investigation, with qualified interpretation and validation. A visually unusual patch on an aerial image is not proof of an economic deposit.
For a mineral-exploration drone enquiry, identify the target information and the proposed sensor method. Ask who will design and interpret the survey and what follow-up evidence is needed. Do not buy a mapping aircraft on a promise that its camera alone can discover or value underground minerals.
Mine inspection needs a separate specification
Visual records of equipment, slopes or facilities can support a mine’s inspection programme, but qualified personnel must decide what can be concluded. Define the asset, defect or change to be recorded, required views and reporting format. Thermal or other payloads require their own justification; a generic drone inspection is not a complete mine-safety assessment.
Coordinate work with site management, access controls and the authorised operating team. Mine conditions can affect equipment suitability and data capture. Treat manufacturer performance figures as reference conditions, not guaranteed coverage of every pit, stockpile or structure.
Budget for the complete system
Include aircraft, payload, positioning accessories, batteries, charging, software, processing hardware, training and spares. Specify how raw images, processed models and reports will be delivered and retained. For a recurring programme, consider repeatability, staff competence and support rather than only the first survey cost.
