Quick answer
As of 28 September 2026, the Tecno Spark 5 Pro sells only as a used phone in Nigeria, at about ₦36,000 to ₦80,000 on Jiji. Units with no reported faults are listed at ₦65,000 to ₦80,000, and cheaper ones usually have screen or camera damage. The plain Tecno Spark 5 (2GB/32GB) is listed at about ₦55,000. Jumia Nigeria no longer sells either phone, only cases, screen guards and spare parts.
At a glance
- Spark 5 Pro: launched July 2020. It has a MediaTek Helio A25 chip, a 6.6-inch 720p screen, a 16MP quad camera and a 5,000mAh battery, and runs Android 10.
- Spark 5: launched May 2020. It has a Helio A22 chip, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, a 13MP quad camera and a 5,000mAh battery.
- Both phones use microUSB, not USB-C, and have a rear fingerprint sensor and a dedicated microSD slot.
- Verdict: only buy one below about ₦50,000 as a backup phone. At ₦65,000 or more, a used Tecno Spark 20 is a much better buy.

Source: Jiji.ng Tecno Spark 5 Pro (6 ads) and Tecno Spark 5 (2 ads) listings, checked 28 September 2026. There are few listings, so use these as a guide and negotiate.
The fault-free Spark 5 Pro ads average around ₦73,000, while the damaged ones range from ₦36,000 to ₦50,000. Sellers do not always mention faults, so test the phone yourself before you believe the price.
What it used to cost new
In August 2022, NaijaTechGuide listed new Spark 5 Pro prices of ₦76,500 (3GB/64GB), ₦81,000 (4GB/64GB) and ₦94,500 (4GB/128GB). It listed the Spark 5 from about ₦54,500 in June 2022. Today’s used prices are close to those old new prices. That is because the naira has weakened since 2022, not because the phone has held its value.
Tecno Spark 5 Pro on Jumia
Many people search for “Tecno Spark 5 Pro price in Nigeria Jumia”. When we checked on 28 September 2026, Jumia Nigeria’s Spark 5 Pro page had no complete phones for sale. It listed accessories and parts instead: a Spark 5 Pro screen protector at ₦2,950, a clear protective pouch at ₦6,400 and a replacement charging board at ₦4,300. The rest of the page showed newer Spark 20, Spark 30 and Spark 40 phones. If you already own a Spark 5 Pro, Jumia is useful for parts. If you want to buy one, you’ll have to buy used.
What affects the price
- Storage. The 128GB version is the one to want. 64GB fills up fast with WhatsApp media.
- Screen history. A replaced screen is the most common fault on these ads. Replacement panels are often dimmer and less responsive.
- Camera glass and fingerprint sensor. Both came up as faults in the listings we checked.
- Battery wear. A 2020 battery will not give you the two-day life the phone once had. Get a local repair quote for a new battery and deduct it from your offer.
- Seller type. Verified business sellers charge more but are easier to trace if something goes wrong.
- Box and receipt. These make the phone easier to resell and help prove it isn’t stolen.

Earlier write-ups, including a previous version of this page, credited the Spark 5 Pro with a 48MP camera, a 720 × 1520 screen and USB-C. According to GSMArena’s spec sheet, it has a 16MP main camera, a 720 × 1600 screen and microUSB. The Pro’s real advantages over the Spark 5 are more RAM and storage and the slightly faster Helio A25. The screen and battery are the same.
Is the Spark 5 Pro still worth buying?
For most people, no. The Helio A25 was an entry-level chip in 2020. It still runs calls, WhatsApp and Facebook Lite, but it slows down with several apps open or with modern games. The phone launched on Android 10, which is now several versions behind. Before you buy, check that your bank app and the other apps you rely on install and run on it.
It still makes sense in a few cases:
- A backup phone or second line for under about ₦50,000.
- A shop or delivery phone used mainly for calls and WhatsApp orders, where the 5,000mAh battery matters more than speed.
- A first phone for a child, where losing or breaking it would not cost much.
If you are looking at ₦65,000 to ₦80,000 for a “clean” unit, compare it with the options below first.
Better options at the same budget in 2026

| Infinix Hot 40i (128GB) | Used | ₦90,000 – ₦165,000 | Unisoc T606, 90Hz, 50MP, 5,000mAh, 18W |
| itel A100C (2GB/32GB or 64GB) | New | ₦103,040 – ₦116,570 | New with a warranty, 6.6″ screen, 5,000mAh battery |
| Tecno Pop 20 (4GB/64GB) | New | ₦174,300 – ₦184,000 | Tecno’s current entry model, running Android 15 or 16, with a 5,000mAh battery |
| Tecno Spark 50 (4GB/128GB) | New | about ₦190,000 – ₦245,000 | Helio G81, 120Hz, 50MP, 7,000mAh, 18W, IP64 |
Prices: Jiji.ng used listings and Jumia Nigeria new listings, checked 28 September 2026. Specs: GSMArena, Tecno and the Jumia listing titles.
Worked example. The fault-free Spark 5 Pro ads we saw ask ₦65,000 to ₦80,000. A used 128GB Spark 20 starts at about ₦80,000 on Jiji. For the same money or a little more, you get a phone three and a half years newer with a much faster chip, a 50MP camera and 18W charging.

Checks before you pay
Old Spark phones are often rebuilt with non-original screens and housings and then sold as “neat”. Go through this checklist:
- Match the IMEI. Dial *#06# and compare the number with the box and with Settings. Then check it on Carlcare, Tecno’s official after-sales service, which offers a warranty check and a “Verify Authenticity” service. Carlcare’s IMEI guide shows where to find the number.
- Confirm it’s a Pro. Settings > About phone should show a Spark 5 Pro with 3GB or 4GB RAM. A phone with 2GB/32GB is a plain Spark 5.
- Test the screen. Open a white page at full brightness and look for yellow patches, dead spots or touch lag. These are signs of a replacement panel.
- Test the cameras and flash, the fingerprint sensor, the microUSB port (charge it for a few minutes), both SIM slots and the microSD slot.
- Check the battery. Run it at full brightness for 10 minutes and see how fast the percentage drops.
- Pay only after testing, in a public place. Never send a “deposit” or “delivery fee” to a seller you haven’t met.
Scammers also use the names of real businesses. Wigmore Trading’s safety page lists the only channels it trades through. Whoever you buy from, check that they are who they say they are before you pay.
