A well completion services enquiry in Nigeria should define what must be delivered after the drilling phase and who is responsible for each part. Buyers may search for a completion rig, completion equipment, drilling-and-completion services or a combined completion-and-workover package. These requests need an operator-approved technical scope before suppliers can quote meaningfully.
Wigmore Trading can help organise sourcing and procurement enquiries for the required equipment and specialist service packages. The proposed contractor, technical responsibilities and actual available scope must be confirmed; this page does not establish an operating contractor appointment.
What does “completion rig rental” include?
The term can be used to describe the rig or unit supporting the planned completion programme. It does not define a universal equipment class or a complete service contract. Ask your technical team to specify the required unit and interfaces, and ask the proposer to identify precisely what is included.
Rig capacity, site or host-installation compatibility, supporting systems and programme requirements should be reviewed together. A unit previously used on another completion project is not automatically suitable for yours.
Separate the phases in the enquiry
| Phase or scope | Procurement clarification |
|---|---|
| Drilling | Approved well programme, rig package and specialist drilling services |
| Completion | Approved completion design, equipment, service interfaces and acceptance evidence |
| Workover | Defined remedial task on an existing well and the appropriate equipment or service package |
| Combined proposal | Named responsibility for each phase, handover point and excluded services |
A combined contract can simplify some interfaces, but only if its deliverables and responsibility matrix are explicit. Do not assume that a drilling rate includes completion equipment, testing, later intervention or production operations.
Build the equipment schedule from the approved design
Use controlled specifications and revisions. Record the exact equipment, quantities, compatibility requirements and documentation needed. The operator and competent service providers should determine technical selections, including any pressure, temperature, materials or well-interface requirements.
Ask how substitutions will be reviewed and approved. A superficially similar component may differ in ratings, connections, materials or intended use. Purchasing decisions should follow the agreed technical acceptance process rather than a generic catalogue comparison.
Contractor and quality evidence
Request the proposed legal entity, relevant experience, current service permissions and named technical responsibility. Equipment documentation, inspection records, traceability and testing evidence should match the approved purchase specification. Verify what must be provided at manufacture, dispatch, delivery and final acceptance.
If installation, technical supervision or commissioning support is needed, include it expressly. Delivery of equipment is not evidence that a well completion has been installed, accepted or made ready for production. Keep each acceptance milestone distinct.
Timing, costs and logistics
Plan long-lead equipment and the readiness of any rig or supporting unit around the campaign schedule. Ask which items are available, which need manufacturing and which require project-specific preparation. Record the date and validity of every availability statement.
Compare equipment cost, specialist services, rig hire, mobilisation, demobilisation, standby and exclusions separately. Define responsibility for storage, preservation, transport, unloading and claims for shortages or damage. Confirm the project permissions and delivery scope before shipment.
Request a completion procurement discussion
Send Wigmore the project region, programme window, required rig or unit scope, approved equipment schedule and requested service interfaces. Identify which items are already secured and where assistance is needed. We can help organise the sourcing and logistics enquiry so the proposal addresses the actual gaps instead of duplicating work already covered by your contractor.
Before requesting a firm quotation
Can an online guide confirm a rate or available asset?
No. A meaningful offer needs a defined scope, named provider or asset, current availability and commercial validity. Ask for the assumptions, exclusions and acceptance conditions in writing.
What can Wigmore help organise?
Send the procurement gap, location, programme window and approved technical brief. The team can scope sourcing, equipment and logistics requirements and confirm which specialist services can be included. Technical authority and operating responsibilities must be agreed with the named qualified parties.
