About the Role

African Land is seeking a proactive and experienced Pest Control & Environmental Hygiene Coordinator to oversee pest management operations across our residential and commercial properties in Accra. This role is central to maintaining health, safety, and comfort for tenants while ensuring compliance with environmental health standards and sanitation protocols.

The ideal candidate will coordinate pest control schedules, supervise treatment operations, and manage contractor performance while identifying proactive hygiene solutions that support our broader property maintenance goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement property-wide pest control schedules and hygiene management programs.

• Inspect buildings and grounds for signs of pest infestation or sanitation deficiencies.

• Coordinate with licensed pest control contractors for routine and emergency treatment services.

• Ensure compliance with environmental health regulations and municipal sanitation standards.

• Maintain accurate records of treatment activities, safety data sheets, chemical usage, and inspection reports.

• Educate maintenance teams and tenants on hygiene best practices and pest prevention.

• Respond promptly to pest-related complaints and ensure follow-up action is completed.

• Recommend and implement improvements to waste handling, drainage, or landscaping that reduce infestation risk.

• Prepare reports for management on pest activity trends, contractor performance, and budget tracking.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certification in Environmental Health, Pest Control, Public Health, or a related field.

• Valid pest control license or formal training from a certified agency in Ghana is required.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in pest control, sanitation, or facilities hygiene coordination.

• Hands-on experience with pest control protocols in commercial or residential environments.

• Experience supervising contractors and understanding pest management contracts.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of pest biology, treatment methods, and chemical safety.

• Ability to conduct inspections and prepare clear, accurate reports.

• Good coordination and communication skills for working with vendors and internal teams.

• Awareness of environmental health legislation and best practices in Ghana.

• High level of attention to detail and commitment to safety.
