Job Overview:

African Land is seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our construction team in Lagos. This role is ideal for a professional with expertise in structural woodwork, fittings, and high-quality finishing. The successful candidate will contribute to delivering durable, precise, and aesthetically pleasing carpentry work across residential and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Construct, install, and repair wooden structures and fittings
• Work on doors, cabinets, wardrobes, roofing frameworks, and other carpentry elements
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications
• Measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials accurately
• Install fixtures and ensure proper alignment and finishing
• Repair or replace damaged wooden components
• Ensure all work meets quality standards and safety regulations
• Collaborate with site managers, engineers, and other tradespeople
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a carpenter in construction or building projects
• Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Good understanding of measurements and precision work
• Relevant certification (Trade Test, NABTEB, or equivalent) is an advantage
• Minimum of 2–5 years of practical experience
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in furniture making and interior fittings
• Knowledge of modern carpentry tools and machinery
• Experience with finishing works and decorative wood designs
• Familiarity with large-scale residential or commercial developments
