Top 7 most expensive Samsung phones in Nigeria (September 2026)

Source: Jiji.ng and Jumia Nigeria listings, checked 28 September 2026. These are brand-new asking prices from independent sellers. Only a handful of Z Flip8 and Z Fold8 ads were live, so treat those ranges as reference points. Ranked roughly by model tier and typical asking price.

The old version of this guide ranked the Galaxy Note 10+, S20 Ultra, S20, Z Flip and S10+ as the most expensive Samsung phones. Those are 2019–2020 models. They now sell used for a fraction of their launch price, and the old page also credited some models with features they don’t have. The ranking above covers what you can actually buy new in 2026.

Each model explained

1. Galaxy Z TriFold: Samsung’s most expensive phone

The TriFold folds twice and opens into a 10-inch tablet-sized screen. It went on sale in the US on 30 January 2026 at US$2,899 for 512GB, which TechRadar noted was US$900 more than the Z Fold7. In Nigeria, the 14 brand-new units we found on Jiji were ₦4.88 million to ₦5.87 million. Curiously, some 1TB units were listed below some 512GB units, which shows how much prices vary between sellers. Buy it if you want a phone that replaces a tablet. At 309g, it’s heavy.

2. Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra

The new top book-style foldable has an 8-inch main screen, a 6.5-inch cover screen, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and a 200MP main camera. It’s 4.1mm thin when open and weighs 215g. Jiji had 158 brand-new ads: 256GB at ₦2.02 million to ₦2.55 million, 512GB at ₦2.3 million to ₦2.73 million, and 1TB at ₦3.1 million. Jumia listed a 1TB/16GB unit at ₦3.6 million.

3. Galaxy Z Fold8

This is the lighter, smaller Fold: a 7.6-inch main screen, a 5.5-inch cover screen, the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and dual 50MP cameras. Samsung says it weighs 201g, making it the lightest Fold yet. Only five brand-new Jiji ads were live: 256GB at about ₦2.0 million, 512GB at ₦2.2 million and 1TB at ₦2.8 million.

4. Galaxy Z Fold7

Last year’s Fold is now cheaper, but high-storage units are still costly. Jiji showed brand-new 256GB units at ₦1.39 million to ₦2.25 million and a 1TB unit at ₦2.9 million. Jumia ranged from ₦1.7 million (256GB) to ₦3.3 million (listed as 1TB). If you want a big-screen foldable and don’t need this year’s model, compare the Fold7 512GB against the Fold8 256GB before you decide.

5. Galaxy S26 Ultra: the most expensive non-folding Samsung

Announced in February 2026, it has a 6.9-inch QHD+ screen, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a 200MP main camera, 3x and 10x-quality telephoto lenses, a 5,000mAh battery, a built-in S Pen and 60W wired charging. Brand-new units on Jiji were ₦1.3 million to ₦1.4 million for 256GB, ₦1.52 million to ₦1.58 million for 512GB and ₦1.9 million for 1TB.

6. Galaxy Z Flip8

This is the compact flip phone of the 2026 range, with at least 12GB of RAM. Only two brand-new ads were live on Jiji: ₦1.35 million for 256GB and ₦1.6 million for 512GB, both from one Abuja seller.

7. Galaxy Z Fold6

The 2024 Fold is now the “affordable” premium foldable. Jumia listed new 256GB and 512GB units at ₦1.085 million to ₦1.298 million. Older Fold5, Fold4 and Fold3 units were ₦590,000 to ₦820,000.

Why Nigerian prices differ from official prices

Samsung’s Africa website lists the Fold8 series but showed no prices when we checked. Legit.ng converted Samsung’s South African launch prices into naira at about ₦94 to R1. On that basis, the Fold8 Ultra 512GB works out to about ₦4.79 million, the 1TB to ₦5.73 million, the Fold8 256GB to ₦3.85 million and the Flip8 256GB to ₦2.54 million.

Jiji sellers were asking far less than that: roughly ₦2.3 million to ₦2.4 million for a 512GB Fold8 Ultra. The gap is too big to explain by exchange rates alone. It usually means one or more of the following:

• the phone was imported from a cheaper market (a regional or “grey” import)
• it has no local Samsung warranty
• the listed price is a teaser, and the seller quotes more when you call

None of these is automatically a scam, but ask directly before paying: Which country is this unit from? Who honours the warranty, and for how long? Is that in writing?

What affects the price

• Storage. On Jiji, going from 256GB to 1TB added about ₦1 million to the Fold8 Ultra (₦2.08 million to ₦3.1 million) and about ₦500,000 to the S26 Ultra.
• Launch timing. New models cost the most in the first months, and the previous generation drops sharply. Compare the Fold6 at about ₦1.1 million with the Fold8 at ₦2 million or more.
• Import route and warranty. See above. A local warranty is worth paying for on a foldable, because inner-screen repairs are expensive.
• Seller type. Verified business sellers in Ikeja and Wuse 2 often quote lower headline prices and offer bulk discounts. Get the final price in writing.
• Exchange rate. Almost every one of these phones is imported, so naira prices follow the dollar.

Worked example. Suppose you want a big-screen Samsung for work and your budget is ₦2.2 million. A 256GB Fold8 Ultra from Jiji (about ₦2.08 million to ₦2.12 million) fits, with a little left for a case. A 512GB Fold8 (₦2.2 million) also fits. If you don’t need a folding screen, a 1TB S26 Ultra (₦1.9 million) gives you four times the storage and the S Pen for less.

How to avoid fakes and scams

1. Be suspicious of prices far below the others. A “TriFold” at half the going rate is a red flag.
2. Inspect it in person, sealed. Check that the box seal hasn’t been tampered with, then open it in front of the seller.
3. Match the IMEI. Dial *#06#. The number must match the box label and Settings > About phone.
4. Check the model and specs in Settings. Clones often use a lookalike body with a slow chip and fake storage figures. Confirm the RAM, the storage and the Android and One UI versions.
5. Test the fold. On foldables, open and close the phone several times. Look for a crease line that flickers, dead pixels near the hinge or a gritty hinge feel.
6. Check for account locks. The phone should set up fresh without asking for a previous owner’s Google or Samsung account.
7. Pay safely. Don’t send a deposit or a “delivery fee” to a seller you haven’t met. Get a receipt with the IMEI and the warranty terms.
