Raw cotton, cotton yarn and synthetic yarn from India should be specified for the buyer’s production process. Spinning, knitting and weaving operations need different material characteristics. Wigmore Trading can discuss textile-input sourcing and export coordination when the required quality and destination are defined.
Separate fibre and yarn enquiries
Raw cotton procurement needs an agreed grade and relevant fibre-quality measurements, moisture, contamination limits and bale identification. A trade description alone does not establish suitability for the planned yarn or production settings.
Non-retail pure cotton yarn, synthetic filament yarn and synthetic staple-fibre yarn have different structures and uses. State composition, yarn count system, ply, twist, finish and package format as applicable. Do not substitute filament for spun yarn without technical approval.
Validate production performance
Agree a sample and trial process on the buyer’s equipment. Review processing consistency, breakages, appearance and the characteristics required in the finished fabric. A sample result should lead to a written bulk specification and permitted tolerances.
For dyed or treated material, define shade reference, finish and relevant fastness or other testing. Keep the approved sample, lot references and test records so repeat orders have an identifiable quality target.
Supplier and origin checks
Establish the actual mill, trader and production origin. Request documentation appropriate to the specification and any claimed certification. If traceable or certified fibre is required, verify the chain for the particular product rather than accepting a general company logo.
Confirm capacity, production schedule and whether subcontracting is permitted. A quoted delivery date should account for sample approval, manufacture, inspection and export preparation.
Packing and export planning
| Item | What to define |
|---|---|
| Bales | Identification, net weight, contamination protection and handling. |
| Yarn packages | Cone or other format, unit weight, lot separation and carton strength. |
| Documentation | Composition, origin, invoice description, testing and destination requirements. |
Protect the material from moisture, odours and damage along the route. Ask whether mixed-cargo consolidation is suitable. Check current Indian export conditions and the destination’s product and customs requirements for the actual material.
Request supply through Wigmore
Send the technical specification, sample reference, volume and destination. Our team can discuss mill identification, procurement, inspection and freight scope. Confirm pricing per agreed unit, net quantity, commercial terms and claim procedures before ordering.
For a new supplier, a controlled production trial can reduce the risk of a full shipment that looks acceptable but performs poorly on the buyer’s machinery. Availability and final quality commitments are established in the specific offer.
