Position Overview
The Chief Investment Officer (CIO) is responsible for leading Wigmore Trading’s investment strategy, capital deployment, mergers and acquisitions, project finance, and strategic partnerships.
The CIO will identify and evaluate investment opportunities, structure financing solutions, build relationships with institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds, development finance institutions and private equity firms, and oversee the Group’s investment portfolio.
The role requires a sophisticated understanding of African capital markets, infrastructure finance, trade finance, industrial development and long-term value creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the Group’s investment strategy.
- Identify new investment opportunities across Africa.
- Lead mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic partnerships.
- Structure debt and equity financing for major projects.
- Build relationships with commercial banks, development finance institutions, sovereign wealth funds and private equity investors.
- Evaluate infrastructure, logistics, manufacturing, agriculture and industrial investments.
- Oversee investment due diligence and valuation processes.
- Present investment recommendations to the Board.
- Manage strategic capital allocation across the Group.
- Support international expansion through disciplined investment planning.
