Job Overview:
African Land is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our construction and finishing team in Lagos. This role is ideal for a professional with experience in delivering high-quality interior and exterior finishes across residential and commercial properties. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the visual appeal and durability of our developments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, filling, and priming
- Apply paint, varnish, coatings, and finishes to walls, ceilings, and exterior surfaces
- Work on both interior and exterior painting projects
- Ensure smooth, clean, and high-quality finishes
- Mix and match paints to achieve desired colours and textures
- Inspect surfaces and identify necessary repairs before painting
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition
- Follow safety guidelines and use protective equipment
- Collaborate with site managers and other tradespeople
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a painter in construction or property development
- Strong knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and tools
- Ability to deliver neat and high-quality finishing work
- Familiarity with surface preparation and treatment methods
- Relevant trade certification is an advantage
- Minimum of 2–5 years of practical experience
- Attention to detail and a strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with decorative finishes and textured coatings
- Knowledge of waterproofing and protective coatings
- Experience working on large-scale residential or commercial projects
- Basic understanding of colour design and finishing aesthetics
