The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Minerals Sales & Trading Executive with deep knowledge of the DRC mining sector and hands-on experience trading key minerals such as copper, cobalt, and coltan.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage relationships with mining operators, cooperatives, and suppliers
- Source, negotiate, and sell minerals to global buyers
- Identify new trading opportunities within the Katanga mining region
- Manage pricing, contracts, and transaction processes
- Monitor international commodity markets
- Ensure compliance with local mining and export regulations
- Coordinate logistics and shipment execution
Candidate Profile
Educational Background
Relevant degrees include:
- Geology
- Mining Engineering
- Mineral Processing
- Earth Sciences
Preferred institutions include:
University of Lubumbashi (UNILU), University of Kolwezi (UNIKOL), University of Kinshasa (UNIKIN), Institut Supérieur des Mines et Géologie.
Experience
- 3+ years in mineral trading, mining, or commodity sales
- Strong experience with copper, cobalt, or battery minerals
- Deep understanding of the DRC mining ecosystem
- Established industry relationships preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical and commercial understanding of minerals
- Excellent negotiation and deal execution skills
- Fluency in French (mandatory), English is an advantage
- Ability to operate in field-based environments
