An oil and gas inspection drone should be specified by the asset and evidence required, not simply by asking for a powerful aircraft. Pipeline corridors, flare stacks, tanks and offshore structures present different inspection tasks. Wigmore Trading is an authorised DJI dealer and can discuss equipment packages and project-sourcing requirements for Nigerian operators and contractors.
Tell our team whether you need visual documentation, thermal observations, mapping or a specialised sensing method. Define who will interpret the data and how findings enter the asset owner’s inspection programme. An aircraft with a camera is not automatically a complete engineering inspection service.
Pipeline inspection and monitoring
A pipeline enquiry should distinguish surface corridor observations from integrity assessment or leak detection. Visible imagery can document accessible external conditions; a conventional camera or general thermal sensor does not prove the absence of a gas leak or internal corrosion. A specialised detection objective requires a validated sensor, method and qualified interpretation.
Specify the asset section, reporting format, inspection interval and required evidence. The responsible engineering team should define which findings can be assessed remotely and which require other tests. Avoid buying equipment on a broad promise that it can identify every pipeline fault.
Flare stacks and oil facilities
For a flare-stack inspection drone, define the relevant components, required image detail and operating conditions. Heat, facility restrictions and hazardous-area requirements need competent assessment. Do not assume a general-purpose drone is approved for an explosive atmosphere or can approach operating equipment at any distance.
For refinery, tank or processing-facility work, agree access, work permissions and the responsible inspection professional. The drone can contribute records to an established programme. It does not replace the asset owner’s operating procedures or certify an asset as fit for service by itself.
Offshore and marine inspection requirements
Offshore procurement needs to consider vessel operations, corrosion exposure, weather, communications and recovery arrangements. DJI describes ship-related capabilities for the Matrice 400 under stated conditions; that does not establish suitability for every vessel or offshore installation. The operator must validate the actual configuration and work method.
Ask whether your requirement is an occasional inspection service or an owned equipment capability. Include mobilisation, site coordination, data handling and specialist review in the scope. A low equipment price may not reflect the resources needed for a properly managed offshore project.
Choose the aircraft and payload together
| Required information | Procurement question |
|---|---|
| External visual condition | What image detail and asset views are required? |
| Thermal observations | Which sensor and competent interpretation support the task? |
| Corridor mapping | What geospatial output and accuracy checks are required? |
| Specialised leak or integrity assessment | Which validated method and sensor are appropriate? |
A compact thermal platform may suit some observation tasks; a modular enterprise system may support other payload needs. Ask for the exact model, sensor, accessories and software. Do not infer payload compatibility from a product photograph or a shared brand name.
Budget beyond the airframe
Include batteries, charging, transport cases, spares, software, data storage and training. Specify who processes and reviews the output and which records the client receives. For repeat inspections, define asset identifiers and a consistent reporting structure so observations can be compared over time.
For procurement in Port Harcourt, Lagos or another operating base, state the delivery point and required date. Confirm availability, sourcing lead time and support arrangements before linking the equipment order to a shutdown or inspection window. International supply and battery transport need product-specific confirmation.
Discuss your project with Wigmore Trading
Send the asset type, inspection objective, site location, required deliverables, preferred equipment and budget range. If you require a managed service, specialist integration or training, identify that separately from product supply. Our team can discuss the equipment and procurement brief, with the detailed technical and operational scope agreed by the relevant professionals.
For related applications, review our utility-inspection guide and Matrice 400 package guide. For purchase records, regional warranty and repair questions, use our support guide. A clear inspection objective allows a meaningful comparison of systems and avoids buying a drone that cannot produce the required evidence.
Buy through Wigmore Trading, an authorised DJI dealer
Tell our team your application, preferred model, quantities, budget and delivery city. We can discuss a suitable equipment package, current supply options and delivery requirements. Nigerian and international enquiries are welcome; availability, destination acceptance and lead time are confirmed for the order.
Discuss your drone requirement with Wigmore Trading → or email sales@wigmoretrading.com. Ask for an itemised quotation covering the aircraft or component, payload, controller, batteries, charging, software, training options and support route.

Confirm the exact model, condition and supplied items before ordering. Catalogue prices and photographs do not establish the contents of a complete flight-ready kit; Matrice listings labelled “Central Frame” need a written bill of contents.
