Power utilities, renewable-energy operators and telecom companies need different evidence from a drone inspection. A transmission-line record, solar thermal survey and tower-condition report should not share an undefined equipment specification. Wigmore Trading, an authorised DJI dealer, can discuss the aircraft, sensor and supply package for your Nigerian project.
Begin with the asset, inspection objective and report format. Ask the engineer or asset manager to identify the information that can be collected aerially and what still needs another inspection method. A drone is a data-collection tool within the maintenance programme, not a replacement for qualified assessment.
Power-line and transmission-line inspection
Specify whether the task is visual documentation, thermal observation, corridor mapping or another engineering requirement. A mapping sensor and an inspection camera serve different outputs. DJI offers enterprise systems with power-line-related functions, but the exact payload, firmware, conditions and responsible operator must be checked for the proposed work.
Do not interpret obstacle sensing as permission to approach energised infrastructure without the utility’s procedures. Agree work permissions, site coordination and competent personnel. The procurement brief should include required evidence and reporting, not detailed flight distances copied from a marketing demonstration.
Solar farm inspection
For a solar inspection drone, distinguish an overview of the site from a thermal assessment of modules or equipment. A useful thermal programme needs suitable data capture, asset identification and interpretation. Ask how apparent anomalies will be reviewed and, where necessary, checked by the maintenance team.
Compare reporting outputs as well as the sensor specification. Can the team locate the relevant asset in a large installation, retain original files and compare later inspections? A colourful thermal image without a useful asset reference may be difficult to turn into a maintenance action.
Wind turbines and other renewable assets
A wind-turbine enquiry should identify the parts to document and the required visual detail. Access, weather and the asset owner’s operating procedures affect feasibility. A camera drone does not automatically replace all blade or structural inspection methods. Define the accepted scope before buying equipment or requesting a service.
For a wider energy portfolio, ask whether one platform can support several confirmed payloads or whether different systems are more practical. Standardising equipment can simplify training and support, but only if it meets the actual requirements of each inspection.
Telecom tower and communications infrastructure inspections
For a cell-tower inspection drone, specify the components to record, image detail, asset identifiers and reporting needs. Communications infrastructure creates its own operating environment, so assess equipment suitability and site restrictions with the responsible operator. A general camera specification does not establish reliable operation at every tower.
If the objective is equipment inventory or condition documentation, agree exactly what must be readable and how findings will be checked. Do not promise signal testing, internal equipment diagnosis or structural certification from aerial photographs alone. Those outcomes may require other instruments and qualified professionals.
Compare packages using the deliverable
| Asset type | Define before ordering |
|---|---|
| Power lines | Inspection evidence, sensor and utility procedures |
| Solar farm | Thermal/visual objective and asset-level reporting |
| Wind turbine | Relevant surfaces, detail and access limitations |
| Telecom tower | Components, image readability and verification |
Include the aircraft, compatible payload, controller, batteries, charging, software, processing and training in the quote. Ask how data will enter existing maintenance systems. For a repeat programme, agree file ownership, storage and consistent asset references.
Request utility inspection equipment in Nigeria
Send Wigmore Trading the asset type, locations, inspection frequency, desired outputs, existing equipment and budget. State whether you need a compact thermal platform, a modular enterprise system or help selecting between them. If you need a managed inspection service, make that a separate request with its own scope and acceptance criteria.
Our team can discuss supply and delivery requirements for Nigerian and regional projects. Confirm availability, package contents, lead time and support before scheduling operations around the purchase. Review the Matrice model guides and the after-sales guide as part of the procurement decision.

Confirm the exact model, condition and supplied items before ordering. Catalogue prices and photographs do not establish the contents of a complete flight-ready kit; Matrice listings labelled “Central Frame” need a written bill of contents.
