Stone, ceramics and glass from Spain need to fit both the design and the technical duty. Building stone, worked slate, plaster products and safety glass cannot be specified by appearance alone. Wigmore Trading can discuss material sourcing, inspection and project logistics for an eligible destination.
Stone and mineral-based building materials
Worked slate, building stone and other stone articles need material identity, dimensions, thickness, finish and permitted variation. Natural colour and texture should be agreed through a representative range rather than one small sample.
Gypsum, plaster articles, refractory bricks, refractory cements and clays serve different uses. Specify the intended environment and performance criteria. A decorative plaster specification does not establish suitability for high-temperature industrial service.
Glass and ceramics
Float glass, safety glass, mirrors, decorative glassware and glass fibres have different manufacturing and application requirements. Define thickness, treatment, dimensions, edge work and relevant evidence. Safety glazing should be selected by the project’s qualified technical team.
Other ceramic articles need the actual product type, finish and intended use. Confirm dimensions, shade variation and performance. Do not infer food-contact or exterior suitability from the material name alone.
Inspection and project acceptance
Approve visual references and measurable tolerances before production. Agree how lots are identified and whether replacements must match the same range. Record edge damage, defects and finish quality through a documented inspection process.
For engineered or safety-critical products, verify test and conformity evidence for the exact product. A general company certificate should not be treated as approval for every glass or refractory item.
Packing and receiving
| Material | Delivery issue |
|---|---|
| Stone | Dense loads, secure crates, lifting and site access. |
| Glass | Edge protection, suitable frames, orientation and unloading. |
| Ceramics and plaster | Breakage, moisture, carton identification and storage. |
| Refractories | Preservation, lot control and installation conditions. |
Confirm weight distribution and handling before booking freight. Agree who inspects at delivery and how damage is recorded. A project may need phased deliveries because fragile or bulky materials cannot be stored safely on site all at once.
Send Wigmore a material schedule
Provide the product specification, samples, quantity, destination and target date. We can discuss supplier identification, inspection, packing and logistics scope. Manufacturing origin, availability, price and technical suitability require confirmation for the actual offer.
If stone-processing machines are also required, send a separate machinery duty schedule. A material supply order does not include cutting or installation equipment unless expressly agreed.
Prepare your sourcing enquiry
This checklist is for your own preparation and does not submit data.
Discuss your Spain sourcing or shipping requirement
Send Wigmore Trading your product or cargo details, quantity, destination and target date. We can assess supplier coordination, procurement and logistics within an agreed scope. Availability, eligibility, price and delivery commitments are confirmed for the particular offer.
