Granite, building stone, unglazed ceramics and stone-processing machines from India should be selected for a project’s technical and visual requirements. Materials and machinery need different procurement checks. Wigmore Trading can discuss sourcing, inspection and export logistics for a defined schedule.
Natural stone and granite
Identify the material, source or permitted origin, finish and format. Natural variation should be agreed through representative samples and an approved range. A single small sample cannot represent every slab in a large order.
Define thickness, cutting accuracy, edge treatment and relevant performance requirements. The project’s designer should assess suitability for floors, walls, external use or other applications. A trade name alone does not establish performance.
Unglazed ceramic products
Specify the ceramic type, dimensions, finish, shade and application. Agree relevant quality and safety properties with the technical team, using applicable tests. Do not assume that an unglazed product is automatically suitable for every wet or high-traffic area.
For visible installations, establish lot control, shade variation and replacement stock. Include permitted defects, breakage handling and acceptance before shipment. Different production lots may not create the intended appearance when mixed.
Stone-processing machinery
Machines need a defined input material, workpiece size, throughput, cutting or finishing result and utility requirements. Specify tooling, consumables, guards, controls and accessories. A machine-only quote may omit the equipment needed for a working production line.
Agree a performance trial and acceptance criteria. Confirm installation, commissioning, operator training and spare-parts support. The proposed machine should be assessed against the actual material and production plan.
Inspection and packing
| Product | Control point |
|---|---|
| Slabs and cut stone | Range approval, dimensions, finish, identification and secure crates. |
| Ceramics | Shade, calibration, carton identification and breakage protection. |
| Machinery | Configuration, tests, preservation, lifting and documentation. |
Stone is dense and can be fragile. Agree packing, load distribution, handling and unloading with the relevant specialists. Confirm equipment and container limits before booking. For machinery, establish safe lifting and site access requirements.
Quotation and project delivery
Compare the same material, finish, net quantity and delivery scope. Include inspection, export preparation, freight, clearance and inland handling where required. Identify who pays for damaged or nonconforming material and how evidence is collected.
Send Wigmore the bill of quantities or machine schedule and target date. We can discuss supplier identification, quality coordination and logistics scope. Origin, stock, price and technical suitability are confirmed for the specific offer.
