An agent banking API connects an operational workflow to the systems that execute and record it. Buyers should ask what the integration actually does, which authorised party provides the service and how the system behaves when a response is delayed. An API label alone does not answer those questions.
Wigmore Trading can discuss your agent banking integration requirements and help scope a project enquiry. Public proprietary API documentation is not currently supplied here. Confirm endpoints, supported providers, access arrangements and delivery responsibilities during the technical review.
Start with a service and responsibility map
Identify the agent portal, onboarding system, principal or provider systems, transaction ledger, reporting tools and support workflow. Assign an owner to each data object and operation. A portal should not silently become the authoritative financial record because it is the easiest screen to access.
Separate agent administration from payment execution. Updating an approved contact record, creating a transaction instruction and authorising a financial adjustment require different permissions. Design least-privilege access around these differences.
Questions a credible API proposal should answer
| Area | Evidence to request |
|---|---|
| Access | Documentation, approved credentials process and environment separation |
| Transactions | References, status definitions, enquiry and reversal behaviour |
| Events | Authentication, duplicate handling, retry and delivery history |
| Operations | Monitoring, escalation, versioning and change notice |
| Data | Ownership, retention, exports and privacy responsibilities |
Do not send production credentials or customer records in an initial sales enquiry. Use test data to discuss message layouts and exceptions.
Design for uncertain outcomes
Consider a request that reaches a provider but whose response does not reach the portal. The integration should establish the outcome before initiating another financial action. Define request identifiers and duplicate protection, then test repeated submissions and repeated event delivery.
Decide how long a pending item remains open, what information support sees and when a human must investigate. Preserve the original instruction and status history. A manual correction should be authorised and visible, not an undocumented database change.
Connect APIs to reconciliation
Every execution flow needs a financial-control counterpart. Ensure the references used in instructions and events can be matched to ledger entries and settlement reports. Agree treatment of provider fees, reversals and failed payouts.
Where wallets are involved, confirm the actual licensed provider and funds arrangement. A software integration project should not imply Wigmore itself holds customer funds or provides a regulated banking service.
Security and handover belong in the scope
Review authentication, secret storage, role permissions, audit logs and incident response with qualified teams. Limit sensitive data in logs and support exports. Document access removal for staff or vendors who leave the project.
Acceptance testing should cover provider downtime, missing or delayed events, duplicate requests, permission denial and recovery after interruption. Agree who supports each failure after launch and how changes to external APIs will be managed.
Can we get a sandbox immediately?
Availability depends on the proposed provider and access process. Request a documented demonstration and confirm prerequisites before scheduling development.
What should an integration brief contain?
Share the intended services, operating country, existing authorised providers, system architecture and redacted message examples. Wigmore can then discuss feasible scope, implementation options and dependencies.
Prepare your project enquiry
Before contacting us, note your operating country and locations, organisation type, existing systems, priority problems, expected scale and desired pilot date. List the capabilities you need and the evidence you want to see in a demonstration. Do not send passwords, API secrets, identity documents or customer financial and health records through an initial enquiry.
This checklist is for your own preparation; it does not submit or store information.
