An ETF, REIT or fund-liquidity enquiry should begin with the exact product and how its units can be bought, sold or redeemed. Listed products and open-ended funds can use different processes and professional roles. Wigmore Trading accepts preparatory research and provider-enquiry coordination requests. This page does not offer fund management, market-making, authorised-participant services or securities execution through Wigmore.

Use the current product documents

Identify the fund, legal structure, listing or dealing arrangement and current governing documents. Confirm the relevant manager, custodian, registrar, broker and other parties. A general description of an ETF or REIT is not enough to determine eligibility, fees, settlement or redemption. Have qualified advisers review the actual product and proposed service.

Product or role Question to resolve
ETF secondary trading Which venue, provider and current quotation arrangements apply?
Creation or redemption Who may participate and what asset, cash, size and timing terms apply?
Listed REIT or closed-end fund How are units traded and what liquidity limitations should be understood?
Open-ended mutual fund What dealing, valuation and redemption rules govern the units?
Liquidity provider What current appointment, obligations, limits and reporting are evidenced?

Creation, redemption and ordinary trading differ

Ask the manager and qualified provider how the product’s primary process connects with secondary trading. Do not assume every broker is an authorised participant or that a general market-making appointment covers every fund. Product documents can define specialised roles and unit arrangements: this historical 2020 ETF prospectus hosted by NGX is an illustration of product-specific documentation, not a current offer or recommendation.

Price, value and spread are different measures

A trading price, net asset value and a provider quote may have different timing and bases. Ask how the comparison is made and what costs or limitations apply. A difference is not automatically an arbitrage opportunity or proof of a pricing error. Do not treat an indicative valuation as a guarantee that a holding can be sold immediately at that level.

Evaluate liquidity programmes carefully

An issuer or fund manager should define the market problem, proposed provider role and evidence used to assess it. Spreads, quote size and activity need clear definitions and reporting periods. The NGX market-making overview provides context on appointed roles; current product-specific requirements need separate confirmation. Avoid promises of artificial volume or a predetermined unit price.

Basket execution and operational dependencies

Where a basket, creation, redemption or rebalancing service is proposed, clarify the legal provider, eligibility, instruments, valuation, allocation and settlement. Confirm handling of partial outcomes and exceptions. An index label or trading algorithm does not establish that the required constituents are available or that the process is risk-free.

Compare provider terms and costs

Request the actual fees, appointment evidence, conflicts, reporting, termination and custody arrangements. Verify the relevant functions through the SEC register and appropriate market records. A lower quoted commission may exclude material product or operational charges.

Prepare a fund-service research enquiry

Send Wigmore the product type, market, organisation role and provider-selection question using non-confidential information. We can clarify available preparatory support and specialist dependencies. Do not send holdings, trading instructions, account access or funds in an initial enquiry.

Discuss your preparatory support requirement

Send a non-confidential brief with your organisation’s role, market or commodity, research or procurement needs and dates. Wigmore can clarify available business-support scope and specialist dependencies. Regulated work must remain with appropriately authorised providers.
