A fixed-income service enquiry should identify the instrument, market and role required. Government bonds, corporate debt, treasury bills, sukuk and commercial paper can involve different terms, access and operating processes. Wigmore Trading accepts preparatory research and provider-enquiry coordination requests. This page does not establish Wigmore as a dealer, primary dealer, market maker, broker or investment adviser.
Separate issuance, auction and secondary trading
An issuer raising capital, an investor participating in an auction and a client trading an existing security need different services. Ask the qualified provider to specify its authority and supported instruments. Use the DMO’s primary-dealer resources for FGN bond context, checking the date and current status of any document rather than treating a historical list as live verification.
| Enquiry | Provider question |
|---|---|
| Government or corporate securities | Which instruments, venues and client types are supported? |
| Auction participation | Which appointment, eligibility and instruction process apply? |
| Two-way quotations | Are prices indicative or firm, for what size and validity? |
| Portfolio switches or rebalancing | How are both legs, partial outcomes and settlement dependencies handled? |
| Treasury, repo or collateral services | Which separate agreements, permissions and risk controls are needed? |
FMDQ roles and Q-Deal
The FMDQ market-connectivity page describes systems including Q-Deal for Dealing Member Specialists. A platform description does not prove a particular firm’s membership, current access or ability to serve your transaction. Verify the exact provider category, market and instrument before relying on an offer. Interbank, interdealer, retail and institutional arrangements should be scoped accurately.
Bond pricing and valuation evidence
Ask whether a price is a reference, valuation mark, indicative quote or executable offer. Specify the time, instrument, size and calculation basis. Price and yield conventions, accrued amounts and charges need professional explanation. A daily mark-to-market value does not guarantee a sale at that level. Independent pricing and trade execution are separate services and may need different providers.
Repo, lending and inventory arrangements
Repurchase agreements, reverse repos, securities lending and inventory finance introduce contractual, collateral, counterparty and settlement questions. Have qualified advisers review the actual arrangement and eligible assets. Do not assume a bond-trading relationship automatically includes these services or that collateral removes loss risk. A general treasury or liquidity-management label is not an executable facility.
Measure liquidity without promising a result
Spread, quote size, trading activity and price discovery describe different aspects of the market. Review the source, period and limitations of analysis. Duration, curve, credit-spread and relative-value enquiries require a qualified mandate and risk assessment; this guide does not recommend a trading strategy. A provider cannot honestly guarantee that every security will remain liquid or maintain a target price.
Compare complete commercial and operating scope
Request fees, dealing capacity, conflicts, confirmations, settlement responsibilities and incident procedures. Verify the relevant operator function through the SEC register and appropriate market records. A discount on commission may not reflect the total cost of an actual trade.
Send a provider-research brief
Tell Wigmore your organisation’s role, instrument category, market, required research or coordination and timetable. We can clarify available preparatory support and professional dependencies. Do not send orders, confidential positions, account details or money through an initial enquiry.
Discuss your preparatory support requirement
Send a non-confidential brief with your organisation’s role, market or commodity, research or procurement needs and dates. Wigmore can clarify available business-support scope and specialist dependencies. Regulated work must remain with appropriately authorised providers.
