Field agent management software should help a supervisor answer three questions: which agents need attention, what action is due and whether the issue was actually resolved. For networks operating across Lagos, Abuja and other Nigerian locations, spreadsheets and separate messaging threads can make those answers difficult to find.
Wigmore Trading can discuss field operations, agent CRM and support-platform requirements as part of your technology project. Start with the work your team performs each week, then identify the portal, mobile workflow and reporting needed to support it.
Build one operational agent record
An agent relationship management system should connect the approved agent identity to its location, responsible officer, contract status, training history and open cases. Avoid keeping a separate version of the agent list in every department. Define which system owns each field and who may change it.
Track the lifecycle from prospect to active relationship and eventual closure. CRM activity should not override an onboarding or compliance decision. A supervisor may schedule a visit while a restricted account remains restricted.
Make field visits useful
A visit form should have a purpose: resolve a device problem, verify an approved change, provide training or investigate a service gap. Record the issue, actions, evidence and follow-up owner. Attendance alone says little about the quality of the visit.
Location tools need proportionate boundaries. Distinguish an agreed visit check-in from continuous worker tracking, explain the purpose and review permissions with your privacy team. Consider poor GPS reception and offline capture. A failed coordinate reading should lead to a reviewable exception rather than an automatic accusation.
Connect support cases to operational outcomes
| Case type | Useful closure evidence |
|---|---|
| Device fault | Repair, replacement or confirmed restoration with asset reference |
| Training gap | Completed learning and practical readiness check |
| Transaction dispute | Linked investigation and authorised outcome |
| Account change | Approved update recorded in the owning system |
Agent helpdesk software should retain a case reference and responsible team. Escalations need clear handover, especially when an issue moves between field operations, a payment provider and finance. Closing a ticket because it was forwarded is different from resolving it.
Design training for the actual operating environment
Use short, accessible material on permitted workflows, customer communication, device care and escalation. Record the content version and completion date. Refresher training may be needed after process changes. Keep test exercises separate from real customer transactions.
For a dispersed workforce, assess phone compatibility, data use, language needs and assisted learning. A lightweight interface can be more useful than a feature-heavy application that field staff cannot reliably open.
Measure service, not just activity
Review unresolved cases, repeat faults, training gaps, missed commitments and visit outcomes alongside activity counts. A large number of visits may reflect recurring faults rather than a strong network. Use individual metrics with context and human review.
Is CRM the same as banking software?
No. CRM coordinates relationships and tasks. Regulated transactions and account controls should stay with the authorised systems and responsible parties.
What should an implementation brief include?
List field roles, visit volumes, existing tools, support channels and approval boundaries. Wigmore can discuss a scoped approach, including the integrations and support arrangements to verify before implementation.
Prepare your project enquiry
Before contacting us, note your operating country and locations, organisation type, existing systems, priority problems, expected scale and desired pilot date. List the capabilities you need and the evidence you want to see in a demonstration. Do not send passwords, API secrets, identity documents or customer financial and health records through an initial enquiry.
This checklist is for your own preparation; it does not submit or store information.
