Buy minerals from Nigeria, legally and on verified grades
Nigeria has gold in the north-west schist belt, lithium in its pegmatites, tin and columbite on the Jos Plateau, and lead, zinc and barite along the Benue Trough. Buyers rarely struggle to find offers. The hard part is finding a seller who holds a real mining title, can show the minerals legally left the ground, and will let you inspect before you pay. That is the part we do.

Nigeria has no commercial diamond mining. Offers of rough diamonds “from registered Nigerian mines” are a common scam, often with requests for upfront export or insurance fees. We don’t trade diamonds. If you have been offered some, read our anti-fraud guide before paying anything.
What makes a Nigerian mineral export legal
If a seller can’t show you these, walk away. Every lot we handle comes with them.
A mining lease, small-scale mining lease or quarry lease from the Mining Cadastre Office, or a Licence to Purchase and Possess Minerals for traders.
Royalty is paid to government on the minerals being exported, with a receipt.
An inspection report from the Federal or Zonal Mines Officer in the state where the minerals are.
A Mineral Export Permit from the Mines Inspectorate, supported by NEPC registration and tax clearance.
Sampling and testing by an independent lab, so grade and price are agreed on facts.
Bill of lading or air waybill, certificate of origin and the export permit, released against your payment terms.

Industrial mineral sourcing for Nigerian factories
Manufacturers sourcing silica sand, kaolin, gypsum, barite or limestone need a grade that meets their process. Wigmore Trading can assess industrial mineral enquiries by specification, quantity, source and destination. A deposit name or photograph does not establish the quality of an available lot.
Silica sand and kaolin
Provide composition, impurities, particle-size requirements and the intended manufacturing use. Ask for representative sampling and a batch or lot analysis. Materials suitable for one glass, ceramic, coating or filler application may be unsuitable for another.
Gypsum and barite
State the mineral identity, required grade and relevant physical and chemical limits. For drilling or another specialist application, the technical team must approve conformity with the specified requirements. An industrial mineral’s name alone is not a performance guarantee.
Limestone and processed lime
Specify limestone separately from quicklime and hydrated lime. These are not the same product. See our lime purchasing guide when calcium hydroxide or calcium oxide is required.
Source, sampling and logistics
Verify the actual producer or trader, lawful source and authority to supply. Agree who takes samples, the testing laboratory, the lot represented and the procedure for disputed results. Connect source records, transport documents and receiving references.
For bulk deliveries, provide packing, tonnes, site access and unloading arrangements. Moisture, contamination and handling can affect acceptance, so define the delivery conditions and inspection point. Export requirements should be confirmed for the actual mineral and physical form rather than inferred from an older shipment.

Send the approved specification, application, quantity, destination and required date. If technical limits are still being developed, arrange a qualified process review before ordering. Our team can assess sourcing, sample and freight requirements; availability, quality and commercial commitments are established in the written offer.
Bulk mineral buying and export-business questions
If you are entering the lithium wholesale business or looking for mineral stock in Nigeria, establish the lawful source, product form, assay and buyer requirement before agreeing a price. A deposit claim or photograph does not establish an available saleable lot.
Lithium sourcing and trading
Identify ore, concentrate or another material precisely. Ask a qualified technical team to approve the assay basis, sampling, moisture, relevant impurities and buyer acceptance limits. Trading material is different from owning a mine or investing in processing.
Do not calculate profit from a headline international battery-material price applied directly to unprocessed rock. Payability, recovery, logistics, quality and contractual terms affect the actual value. Financing and investment advice require the appropriate qualified providers.
Lead ore and processed mineral exports
For lead-related products, define the actual mineral or concentrate, grade, hazardous properties and destination requirements. Verify mining and supply authority, applicable export permissions and carrier acceptance before purchase. No universal permission to export is established by the phrase “lead ore”.
Scrap metal and restricted categories
Do not assume all commercially valuable material can be exported. Official Nigerian prohibition resources identify scrap metals as a restricted export category. Have the competent authorities and appointed professionals confirm the current treatment of the exact goods before contracting.
Never misdescribe scrap as a different commodity or use another country as a route to evade a prohibition. Where the proposed trade is not permitted, assess lawful domestic sale, processing or another genuinely eligible product instead.
Prepare the supply file
Connect seller identity, lawful source, lot reference, sample records, independent analysis, packing and transport documents. Agree when title and risk transfer, how the weight is measured and what happens if a test fails. A certificate from an unknown issuer is not proof of supply rights.
