Sierra tequila price list in Nigeria (September 2026)
Sierra, which bills itself as “original Mexican Tequila” and is known for its sombrero-shaped cap, is Nigeria’s go-to party tequila because it is cheap enough to buy by the carton. These are the prices we saw on live Nigerian listings in late September 2026:

In short, established stores sell Sierra Silver for ₦15,000–₦17,000. Reposado and the flavoured bottles cost more at specialist stores, and marketplace sellers can undercut both.
Which Sierra is which?
Sierra is made in Mexico by the González family at Destilerías Sierra Unidas (NOM 1451), according to Sierra’s official site. The brand now sells three families of product, and Nigerian shops mix them up:
- Sierra Tequila (Blanco/Silver and Reposado/”Gold”). This is the classic party tequila most Nigerian shops stock. Sierra sells it simply as “Tequila”, separately from its 100% agave line. Tequila that is not labelled 100% agave is a mixto, which by tequila rules must contain no less than 51% agave spirit, with other sugars making up the rest (tequila categories).
- Sierra 100% Agave (Blanco, Reposado, Añejo). This is a more premium line made only from agave. We did not see it in Nigerian listings when we checked. If a shop claims to have it, the label will say “100% Agave”.
- Flavoured Sierra (Tropical, Lime and others). Sierra’s own site lists Tropical and Lime under its liqueur range, not its tequila range. Café, Spiced and Tropical Chilli are also sold in Nigeria. Check the label for the product type and ABV.
Many Nigerian listings still say “Sierra Gold”. Sellers usually mean the golden reposado, so ask which bottle you are getting.

Buying Sierra for a party: worked examples
Sierra is usually bought in bulk, for shots at weddings, birthdays and club nights. Here is how the September 2026 prices work out:

A Jiji carton at about ₦14,170 a bottle is a big saving on ₦25,000 singles, but a cheap carton is also exactly how fake stock is moved. Buy from a seller you can visit and check the bottles (see below) before money changes hands.

- Exchange rate. Sierra is imported, so its naira price follows the exchange rate.
- Import duty and clearing. Duty, freight and port charges are passed on to buyers. Importers can estimate them with our import duty calculator.
- Variant. Silver is cheapest. Reposado and some flavoured bottles cost more.
- Quantity. In our worked examples, cases and cartons cut the per-bottle price by roughly 10–45% compared with singles.
- Seller. Supermarkets and online stores price consistently. Jiji sellers are cheaper but vary.
- Season. December and wedding season lift demand, and prices follow.

Online stores
We found Sierra at Naija Liquor (the widest range: Silver, Reposado, Café, Spiced, Tropical Chilli), BottleKing (single or case), Supermart.ng (same-day Lagos delivery) and Wyn City in Abuja (2–3 business days’ delivery).
Jumia
We couldn’t find a live Sierra listing on Jumia when we checked in September 2026. Third-party sellers come and go, so it is worth checking, but Jumia wasn’t the cheapest source for Sierra at the time.
Supermarkets and drinks shops
Supermarkets and neighbourhood drinks shops often carry Sierra Silver. Compare their shelf price with the online prices above before buying in quantity.
Wholesale
For businesses buying every week, a wholesaler is cheaper and more reliable than retail. See alcohol distributors in Nigeria and wine and spirits distribution in Lagos. Retailers who want to stock up can also register as a trade buyer.
How to spot fake Sierra
Cheap spirits are faked too. Because Sierra is often drunk as fast shots at parties, a bad bottle can go unnoticed until someone falls ill. Check:
- The sombrero cap. It should sit straight and firmly, with a clean, intact seal underneath.
- The NOM number. Genuine Sierra is made at Destilerías Sierra Unidas, NOM 1451. Check that the NOM on the label matches.
- The label. Look for sharp print, straight edges and no spelling mistakes.
- Importer and NAFDAC details. Look for importer information and a NAFDAC number on the label or sticker.
- The price. Singles far below ₦11,000 in September 2026 would be unusual.
- Consistency. In a carton, every bottle should have the same fill level, colour and label.
- The smell. A harsh, chemical or nail-polish smell means stop drinking immediately.

The classic Sierra Tequila sold widely in Nigeria is sold separately from Sierra’s 100% Agave line, so it isn’t labelled 100% agave. A tequila not labelled 100% agave must contain at least 51% agave. Check the label: the premium line says “100% Agave”.
Is Sierra cheaper than Don Julio or Casamigos?
